There was a time when the ancient Bushman would kneel down to drink from the promised water of the Xugana Lagoon, an oxbow lake, formed by the timeless meandering of the Okavango Delta's water ways.
Today "Xugana" means more than "kneel down to drink".
You will now find a lodge, on an island, nestling within a forest of wild ebony and garcinia trees, at a place where Africa chooses her own pace. Day after day the fish eagle swoops down from the tall trees and gracefully lifts its prey from the tranquil waters.


Time takes on a different meaning at this unique corner of the Delta. Spend a while watching the Kingfisher swaying gently on papyrus stalks and then let your gaze follow the rhythm of the Lechwe, splashing through the shallows.

FEATURES:
- 8 reed and thatch mesasa( local word for huts) on stilts, set around indigenous trees overlooking the lagoon. Mosquito proofed. En-suite shower, toilet and basin, hot/cold running water.
- Swimming Pool.
- Fully stocked refrigerated bar.
- Shop: local crafts, bush gear, books, etc.
- Night lighting.
- Basic laundry.
- Full breakfast, light lunch, three-course dinner; early, mid-morning and afternoon tea or coffee.
